The Only Holocaust Memorial

By Robert B. Arbetman

I have long said that the State of Israel is the ONLY Holocaust Memorial.

I am tired of people who weep crocodile tears for dead Jews then turn around and express hatred for Israel. What they are saying in effect is: "The only good Jew is a dead Jew."

Now is the time for the world to recognize that Israel is THE ONLY Holocaust Memorial and everything else is merely a monument or museum. Monuments and museums have their place, but the rise of political anti-Semitism and its social acceptance have imperiled Jews as never before. Today's peril equals and arguably exceeds the Holocaust.

22 Arab League nations continue to hold a manifest government policy of anti-Semitism with absolutely no protest from the rest of the world. Indeed, it is clear that various European powers have nurtured the Arabs' War Against Israel since the end of WWII.

Auschwitz is the wrong place to gather in commemorating the Holocaust. The world's ONLY Holocaust Memorial is the living, breathing State of Israel. When the world's leaders gather in Israel to commemorate the Holocaust, I'll feel a lot safer and secure as a Jew living in today's world.
